General relativity allows you to imagine making time machines, but at the end of the day, I suspect that in the real world, time travel is just not possible. We have a much better framework for thinking about the physics and philosophy of time travel than we would in the magic world of HGLs or whatever. But even though it's conceivable, it's not ruling out once and for all the idea that you can do it.
