Empathy, Expectations, and Ownership in Expert Learning
You need to, as best you can, go and see what it is like for people to learn. You can't design for a broader spectrum if you don't know what exists within that spectrum. So empathy will look like dialogue and whole creation of learning with learners. It's very easy for me to be very proud when they show signs of learning and improvement. And I can say, look at that. When they struggle, that's that can be threatening. But it's also empowering to say, there's stuff in the environment we can do something about.
