Only acetyl-carnitine has a lower bound of the normal range substantially above zero and plasma. The fatty acids that can best tolerate are those shorter than 10 carbons, including butyrate which is C4 as well as caperlate which is C8. coconut oil only has 15% of its fatty acids as a combination of C8 and C10 according to this chart. That suggests that I would do much better with specific MCT oil rather than the standard food oils.
