Rats - The Answer to Human Over Population Problems
Ed Ramsdon is a historian of science and medicine at queen mary university. He's co writing a book on johm b. Calhoun and his rats. In the early sixties, he thought that rodents might be the answer to our human over population problems. Rodents had been used in scientific research for a few decades because they were practically our mere images. They eat very similar fruit than we do, which means that their senus are very similar physiologically. On one hand, almost all human genes associated with diseases have counterparts in the rat geno. At the same time, rats were vermin, not human creatures to be feared and exterminated.
