The Challenge of Teaching Mixed Ability

I'm seeing more schools in England moving to mixed attainment this last year than has happened for a very, very long time. It's something about the challenge of teaching it that's quite interesting intellectually. You can do some really interesting stuff with groups of children that have this larger tame gap. But you need to know the pedagogical choices, the di-dactical choices that are necessary to make it work. We don't make sprockets in a sprocket factory.
