The Bay of Pigs Invasion
I thought the Bay of Pigs was stage one, like you said, is where you send in these Cuban exiles trained by the US military. I didn't know that stage two was the pretext for basically a war between the United States and Cuba. Did they have forces ready? Do we know if there's plans of what was meant to take place? How was this meant to unfold? They did. There were all sorts of US Navy ships just over the horizon. And it's clear this was really the only way this ever could have worked.
