Idolatry for Liberty
i think it's helpful to look at liberty and say, where has this light gone bad? And if you think about the fundamental nature of idolatry, what is idolatry? Well, it's when you replace god, right? That's what an idol is. When an institution becomes an idol, it means it's no longer pointing accurately, pointing correctly to those characteristics of god, but it's pointing to itself. We have to really uphold the prophets, people who are calling to account the internal problems of israel.
