The Importance of Hope in Speculative Practices
I'm intrigued by why you finished with hope and I guess kind of why you wanted to sort of foreground that idea at the end of the book. It's quite nice to have an academic book that finishes by talking about hope, which is not, you know, entirely kind of usual in contemporary academic thinking. What speculative methods do is help to challenge the inevitability of a particular future,. That is fundamentally hopeful at least when things that seem to be inevitable are also really serious threats to human flourishing.
