Urbanization

The miracle of fossil fuels is that a gallon of diesel will do the work of 10 healthy human beings. And there's simply no way to produce enough food without fossil fuels unless humans fill that gap. So if we're going, if we buy some miracle, find another source of energy like that, then I don't see why there would be a return to the land.
