Showgirls: A Revenge Movie
showgirls is a treatise on this theme and virtually every frame but never more so than at nomie's audition for a part in the chorus of crystal's show. In all of her interactions with everyone except molly nomie is either openly hostile or barely veiling her hostility with mocking syrupy sweetness she's all anger and frustrated ambition exploding. This only makes sense in the end when showgirls reveals itself to be a revenge movie against a culture that treats women as disposable.
