Folding a structure from a flat sheet is not especially practical or quick. David and his team adopted the art of 'oragami' to make portable, compressible, three d objects. Uses range from product packaging to emergency shelters or even satellite solar panels. For us, we're thinking of now fabrication methods that basicallyou don't have to be good at oregami to create the shapes.

The team hope that this technique could be used to create arches and emergency shelters that can be quickly unfolded from flat with minimal input.
