The two ingredients that I get asked about the most are thymerosol and formaldehyde. Mercury is a naturally occurring element found in the Earth's crust, soil and water. There's another type of mercury called methylmercury that makes its way through the food chain. At high levels, it can be toxic to people. But studies comparing the two suggest they're processed very differently in the human body.
