I think there is a lot more room for freedom and agency in other animals lives that we could give them if we thought to, or we usually aren't thinking to. In my own life, I had a sort of the opposite story with my companion Oli who was a street dog from Romania,. He'd never lived in a house before, nor had a close relationship with a human before. So we needed to create a lot of understanding, and he needed to adjust to a situation that was in a sense much less free.
