Theology of Ordination in the Central Middle Ages

There's no theology of ordination in the Western church until the 11th and 12th century. Only a very small percentage of men could get into the priesthood, which put them on this sort of weird equality with women in the lay church. Women's bodies are considered to be impure; only men reflect Jesus as the male body. But at the same time, most men would never be priests.
