The Role of Vocabulary in Conlanging
As I understand it, it doesn't actually borrow any vocab directly, but it's phonology and its general structure is very close to that of Hopi or one of the other Newton languages. In my opinion, encoding important religious social cultural matter in your conlang is a much more touchy issue than having a phonology that makes one think of chemoevy or something. Different groups can respond differently. But, uh, my general idea would be like when in my own conlanging, I feel more comfortable with using something from another language and using it as inspiration to create my own thing than copying something from an existing natural language,.
