Is There a Middle Option in Local Flood Interpretation?
Bible sometimes refers to people by names they didn't have during their lifetimes. Author samuel gives this name to a historical figure that the historical figure wasn't actually called by in his own lifetime. The biblical authors thus sometimes do refer to historical individuals by new names. Another example of that, it very likely, is the first man, adam, who has the hebrew name adam. This isn't what the first man would have been called in his own day, but it's a good name to use later on.
