The H2S Radar System
Alan Blumline spent 18 months developing the H2S radar system. The project was top secret, and not even his family knew what he was working on. By June 1942, they were ready for a test flight. 11 people got on board, and my father was able to see the results. All of that hard work had paid off. But sadly, on the way back, a starboard engine caught fire. The pilot tried to land the plane safely, but ended up crashing. All the 11 on board was killed.
