Is the Federal Reserve Really Anchoring Inflation Expectations?

Central bankers like to think that, well, you know, we're doing we because we are credible, we're keeping inflation expectations anchored. But when they actually pull the public and ask them, at least in the US, do you know about the Federal Reserve? Half the people are like federal what? You know, it's that one. So obviously, central bank credibility cannot be anchoring inflation expectations. The polling does suggest that as you noted, it's more about their own experiences.
