CNN's John Sutter looks at the ways in which American capitalism has coopted ideas. He says there is a tendency for these beautiful moments of creation to be just subsumed by capitalism so quickly. The author also argues that happiness is not a thing itself that can be achieved or sought, but rather a by product of other things like knowledge and action.
