How do you get a person who is injured on a stretcher in the dark through a tiny, tiny little cave passageway? We have a specially designed stretcher for cave rescue that has a spinal board on it. You've got to do your best to try and protect the spine when you lift him in. And then ta really important thing is to make sure that he's going to be kept warm. Caves are cold, even in the dry bits, and they're cold. Lying still for 53 hours in a cave, you're not going to be able to keep yourself warm by moving.
