Lee Anderson: Rishi Sunak's Secret Weapon
Lee Anderson comes from a staunch working-class background. Born in January 1967 in the Nottinghamshire mining village of Hothwaite. From a family of coal miners he told Radio 4's political thinking programme. The men worked down the pits from the seven days a week. We had one holiday a year which was a caravan in Skegnes. And that was our food bank. Lee used to come on picket line every now and again. His mum and dad were in the strike centre. When workers are on strike you don't cross picket lines.
