What Happened in the Middle Ages?

i cannot tell you how often this occurs, where it's like, where did this come from? A person said it. Where did they say it? They said it in this book. And you go to that book. Oh, some somebody else said it, is what that book said. It actually didn't show up until some dude, like annotated book hundreds of years later. That's the thing that kills me. i've really fallen down another one of these frustrating holes.
