Copy Editing

Usually you would start with a critique, but it really depends on where the manuscript is. It's perfectly normal for an edito, for an author with your experience, to just have the critique. Copy editing is much more technical and objective. So copy editors make sure that the grammar and word usage is correct and consistent. They check for continuity and factual accuracy.
