Public Charter Schools Are More Public Than Government Run Schools
LZ Granderson: Charter schools on paper are defined in every state that I've seen as public schools. He says they're actually more public than the traditional government run schools because they don't discriminate by zip code. LZ: In some places, parents have gone to jail trying to get their kids into better quote unquote public schools and it's a huge injustice. Parents should be able to choose any type of public school to make them true public schools, he says.
