There's probably a set of people who would believe that if you had let office use dot net, right, that windows Vista would have gone differently. But there's another discussion in there about second system syndrome. Second system syndrome happens when a team that's successful takes a step back and says, okay, wow, that was such such a mess to get that hugely successful product out the door. And then they vanish for like a decade and nothing ever happens.
