Dog Barking - What Causes Dogs to Bark?

In the wild, no dog will bark unless there's a specific reason for it to do so. But when dogs are not brought up properly by their humans, they then start barking. Dogs can also do this thing where they reinforce their own barking. So in this case, just by moving on, the kids are awarding my dog because she thinks that she's done a really good job of protecting the house from their scary kids.
