The Impact of Moral Outrage on Social Media
It's not clear the extent to which people are conscious of this reputation boosting effect of outrage. The intentional outrage and the unintentional outrage get mixed, of course, in our news feeds. And one thing that really concerns me is that if you dial up the volume on moral outrage, then you risk losing real signal amongst a lot of noise.
