The Impact of Operation Gatekeeper on Migrants

Operation Gatekeeper was a border patrol operation that began in 1994. The idea was to increase the number of agents and weapons on the U.S.-Mexico border. Some migrants were killed or injured while trying to cross, but management said it would deter future crossings. Jen Budd is one of the former Border Patrol agents who executed Operation Gatekeeper.
