Design and Use Your Inner Faces

I feel like i was just having a conversation on twitter with somebody about, like, the difference between design and usor experience. And if you're a user experienced designer, does that mean you also design, use your inner faces? I think i see design as like, the whole of everything. There are a multitude of practices underneath designer. So specifically for geo spatial and earth observation stuff, the user experience sort of starts at the possibly, at the engagement with the organization that is brokering the data. Data starts pretty early on in the cycle. Our user inter faces are only one tiny part of that over all experience.
