Why Did India Help Turkey?

I haven't watched a single IPL match this year. I've never had a favorite as such. If some team plays well and catches my attention and grabs me by the throat here, then I'll certainly support that. India helped Turkey by launching Operation Dost but still Turkey is very much anti-India. Then why did India help Turkey? Sir, don't call me naive. No, absolutely not. It's a very good question.
