How to Get Out of the Mistrust Trap

The trick authoritarians use is they say, don't worry about the institution. Mistrust just seems to be more mistrust; that seems to make institutions deteriorate. The best thing you can do is invite people to become part of your institution. Once people feel like they're part of something, they're much more sympathetic to it.
