By 2008 there were starting to be a large bailout so by March of 2008 Bear Stearns was bailed out and the other investment bank JP Morgan took it over. The government had nationalized Fannie Maine Freddie Mac which was just sort of this quasi government quasi you know kind of have private loan originator. Lehman Brothers failed on September 15th 2008 causing a massive ripple across the financial sector and across the entire economy itself.
