The way americans live may contribute to these desperate feelings that become dangerous politically. The number of people who feel socially disconnected is perfectly correlated with the degree of industrialization and technology use in the world. So it's not a little bit of industrialization a good thing. But if the more excessive the industrialization of the world becomes, the more people end up in this typical atomized state. That's what i describe in the first chapters of my book, the psychology of totoritarianism.
