In 1860 Martin showed up to the Le Borde Inn in Lyon and he had a young woman with him. He told the innkeeper it was his niece but unfortunately they didn't put her name down. The girl heard him call her his niece and she ran from the end screaming. And later the innkeeper was put on the stand when the trial happened and was shown bloody clothing and a bag and a dress that belonged to this girl. So you just like chased her out of there into the woods and probably murdered her? Yeah. What the fuck? These bloody items were found in their home and that girl was never seen again and was never identified. By February 1861 he was ready to kill
