There's a way to hack the nervous system that I think has worked really effectively and that is heart rate variability training. The cheapest and easiest way to try it is to get an app for the iPhone and Android called Stress Doctor. You put your finger over the lens and it reads your heart rate and you breathe in time with the screen. So then it tunes your brain into the right frequency and you can just let go because this becomes your little bubble. That's my version of meditation. It just gives your mind a break.
