Antihistamines Are More Effective Than Benzodiazepine for Acute Vertigo

A recent study published in Gemma Neurology provides a little bit of insight into the treatment. The results showed that antihistamines resulted in significantly more improvement on the vertigo visual analog scale compared to benzodiazepines by about 16 points. Some experts caution that it's possible that giving a dose of antihistamine could impair the neurologist's ability to identify some of the subtle eye movement findings needed to make an accurate diagnosis.
