The Paradox of Perception

I think that's a fundamental paradox there. Do I perceive people the way that they want to be perceived or do I choose how to perceive them? That's the elephant in the room with all of this stuff. We're nowhere near agreeing what system we're going to all use and that we're nowhere near that.
