What Happened to Christian Shaw?
In August of 1696, 11-year-old Christian Shaw became sick. She was taken to nearby Glasgow for medical care and told doctors she had been cursed. A doctor suggested that the girl might actually be wrestling with a demonic force. The local church stepped in but none of it seemed to help. So as Christian Shaw continued to mutter names of people who were tormenting her, her father wrote them all down. And then he demanded justice when it arrived more than a year later.
