How I Got Started in the Investment Business
Bert Malkielen is the co-founder and chief executive officer of investment firm E-Trade. He started out as a college dropout who wanted to work in finance but didn't know anything about investing. In 2005, he met his partner Burton when Google asked him to give a talk on investing for its employees. The two have been business partners ever since; they now own more than 100 companies around the world.
