How Folders Come to Be

The first folder was not a digital folder. It was file in cabinets. People organize information, like going to a different grocery store to buy every item on the list when all they want to do is make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. When you have these rigid structures that never change or are really hard to change, I think that's where the problem arises. If you don't actually use software that forces you to think in folders, if you've never used before, then you actually don't think higherlike, you know, in that way.
