There's a moment right at the beginning of this chapter that confuses me, which is that Harry comes out the gate assuming good intentions in Tom Riddle. And now that he's seen Jenny, why wouldn't someone want to save a dying child, right? Right. He's a strong reason to believe that Tom Riddle will betray him or has betrayed Jenny,. And this is where I think that it may be not out of character. That kind of faith in Hogwarts, right, is exactly what Riddle exploits because it's easy to take advantage of even Dippett's wizarding bias and say, well, of course he'll trust me because I'm a good wizard.
