In Reil, he talks about all these different theories and we kind of, at least for me, I usually think of like Newton or Marx. But having Sherlock Holmes' example really does give us this difference in what theories can be for. It's not that Sherlock Holmes comes up with a theory that he can go state and that's the point of it. A lot of where this programming activity really comes out is as we go and make modifications over time.
