McClellan and the South in the Civil War
In the West, people did, the Union did pretty well. They basically came close to eliminating the Confederate presence in Kentucky and Tennessee. In Virginia, balls bluffs, they had a bad time because a certain guy named George McClellan was in charge. People have this idea that the South did really, really well in the first couple of years of the war. That's only true when you're talking about McClellan. Everywhere else you go, not so good.
