The Fall of Donzig
Nearly two-thirds of Donzig's garrison were now dead, wounded, or too sick to fight. Napoleon had given Lefev permission to offer extremely generous terms of surrender. On May 24, the remains of the garrison marched out of the city. Per the terms offered by the French, no trophies were taken. The Prussians were allowed to keep their flags and even their weapons.
