American Prairie's Conservation Herd of 800 Buffalo
American Prairie aims to create the largest nature reserve in the contiguous United States. The goal is about 5,000 square miles, 3.2 million acres of intact grasslands. It's comparable to the size of the state of Connecticut and also comparable to Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks combined.
