When you're talking colonialism, it's never not a heartbreak. The Nubian people were turned into a living, breathing factory for the production of the deadliest colonial soldiers in Africa. As the British Empire grew, the Nubians were inducted into the regular British army and became the elite fourth battalion of the King's African rifles. They had an unenviable reputation among their fellow countrymen with one of the world's highest homicide rates.
