Anarchism the Black Revolution
While in prison, Oven had begun receiving anarchist literature. He also was starting to pick up what another Black anarchist, who he was briefly imprisoned with at the time, Martin Sostra was put in doubt. His case was soon taken up by the anarchist Black Cross and the helper prisoner posed torture which led to an international campaign that petitioned for his release. And so, he was released in 1983 after serving nearly 15 years. Today he remains active, as I said, recording a podcast called Black Autonomy with his wife and fellow four panther, Johnina.
