In 1964, two scientists working for Bell Labs stumbled on one of the greatest discoveries of all time. Arno Pinsius and Robert Wilson discovered a signal that appeared to be coming from the sky. They found there were pigeons roosting in the antenna which was covered with droppings. The researchers removed the pigeon droppings but could not explain the mysterious signal.
