Faith saves us precisely because it puts us into relationship with god in a supernatural way. And the more you love him, the more you draw close to him. So i hope that it's now clear why for aquinas faith is reasonable, but not just reducible to reason and defensible by reason. In fact, you're a better believer when you're using reason rightly.
