The New Testament in its world is aimed at helping all of us to get in touch with stuff which often we in the church don't get sufficiently in touch with. I have a biblical image for why I think this matters. In 1 Kings 22, two kings are wanting to go to war and they ask the prophets to tell them whether they should do this or not.
